Washing the roof of an SUV or ute with a mitt means a step ladder and a wet sleeve. This mop puts a soft chenille head on an extendable aluminium handle, so the roof, bonnet and windscreen are done from the ground in a few long passes.

The chenille noodles hold a lot of soapy water and trap grit inside the fibres instead of dragging it across the paint. The head unscrews and goes in the washing machine.

Why drivers love it

• Reach without a ladder – handle extends to clean roofs, vans and 4WDs
• Soft on paint – chenille microfibre head, no bristles
• Holds plenty of suds – fewer trips back to the bucket
• Pivoting head – follows curves on bonnets and windscreens
• Washable head – unscrew, machine wash, reuse

How to use it

1. Rinse the car first to knock off loose dirt
2. Soak the head in your wash bucket and start from the roof down
3. Rinse the head often, then rinse the car and dry
